Just wondering how many of you micro drivers are just buying them to bash around? or are you using them to race?

Us GT car owners use them to race, cause really do you think a pan car makes a good basher? NO. Below is Mario's opinion and I was just wondering on the micro side if he is right? My daughter has a micro truck (not Xray) to bash around with but she is 5 so racing isn't on the plate right now. But, she has expressed that is what she would like to do so Mario's comment got me wondering.

I'm not trying to start anything, just want to know. Curiosity killed the cat

And at the end I would like to mention the fact we have realized and learned that the micro and GT customers buy their cars to have fun and for bashing. Very few customers get their micro cars and GT cars for real racing. This is the reason why very few owners of the micro cars and GT are looking for set-up sheets. This will probably be also the reason why these customers are not interested to spend some more money on some options. Also in my opinion since these customers buy these cars for fun, they are not interested for "serious" technical talks on online conferences or forums. The touring and off-road drivers are different though which is the reason such forums are popular around the web. And there is nothing we can do about this even if you or us wish.

Our club has a beautifull indoor track but due a lack interest we had no wintercup last winter. Yes, we do race and I know some bashers owning a M18 or MRS4 but most of them do not use it because they are limited with where to drive.
I can imagine the offroad models are more populair because they have less limitation of where to drive.

I only race want with them, and if I want to have fun it is only on the track or sometimes on a 400 meter oval bicycle track with insane batteries and brushless motors.

I only race just because of the fact that it is a graphite chassis. I only take my M18T Pro outside when i need to check something before a race. But the truck never leaves the ground.

Hi! I seem to be a rare kind of user when it comes to bashing with the M18Tpro. I have this car for almost a year now and I can tell you this. I only broke 2 pieces in one year. I broke my front shock tower (in the place where the clips keep the body in place) and one plastic hub and this one was my fault because I hit a rock wall at high speed.
I have dedicated myself to one thing in this car that made me very proud with the time, I kept one goal and that wasnt the best time per lap but to make the M18Tpro bombproof. Durability for me is a very important factor, I only like to buy quality durable and though stuff

What I did was this:
front aluminium shock tower
rear aluminium hubs
all carbon parts have cian glue in the edges
oversized servo
aluminium servo horn
adhesive plastic layer covering the chassis underneath
I also always use the bigger optional wheels
screw glue on all screws
well cut body with no vivid corners but round instead so it doesnt crack so easy
I also use two optional motor coolers instead of one or none, this keeps the motor cool and offers more protection

I plan to buy 2 more aluminium hubs and aluminium shock tower to improve durability

I bash a lot, I dont race because I use this car for family meetings and my own bashing fun only
This car can pass the test if you assemble it right and do like me. I usualy drive it over rocks, sand, grass, concrete and I do jumps.
Most people wouldnt imagine what this car can do. I only HATE one thing about this car, THE SHOCKS, the way they are mounted in the lower arms and they tend to leak.

I'm just a basher, I bash with an xray 808 2009 specs with an ercm race modded alpha 21 (lol I know) and my mini is an xray m18t with mamba 8000 setup. Futaba 4pk super is the brains of it all

I have an M18T (not pro) and don't abuse it, but I'm worried about rocks and crud getting into the gears.

There are sometimes aftermarket covers for the exposed gears and whatnot on other makes of cars that are used for bashing, but haven't seen anything for the M18T.

So have you just not had any issues, or is there a trick I'm missing?

Chris
