Hey there, I have just purchased an M18MT which I am really pleased with, its a big upgrade from my mrs4. Anyway I was a bit disappointed to find that it did not have the typical chevron tyres instead I got mini pin ones....

I also got a Hummer H2 shell what happened to the excalade shell?

Would being from the UK have anything to do with this?

Thanks, just curious because these 2 things really let me down... was looking for a box are model.

My kit came with the chevron tyres, but to be honest you're better off with the Thrax tyres (ie the ones you have) as the chevron tyres rub against the chassis causing the car to spin out of control and it wears down the tyres.

It was more the body that I was disappointed with, the tyres hook up great even on the wood floor in my house, but I really cant stand the Hummer Body shell. Ordered the escalade shell today from the LHS.

Curious why it came with it though?

Thanks for replying GroundHog. I didnt know about the rubbing issue.

mine came with the hummer h2 bodyshell and the Thrax tyres, which i both didn't apretiate.

the tyres are wearing down so quickly, they're almost slicks after 10 batteries.

I went to my local store, where i bought the kit and they said Xray wouldn't produce the chevron tyres, which figured out to be a lie :(

and also there was a notice with the power pack which said to use the battery for the first time before march 2006 and I got the kit in june... :(

anyway it's an awesome car (just a petty my servo is broken)

The luck of the draw, when it was packaged the body and tire. Tyre wear? you running on dirt or Asphalt! two differnt surfaces. Im geussing asphalt!!
Battery I wouldnt worry about it. Just as long you follow direction in charging. The charging just tell you if they do take a charge.
Servo! Look into Hitec 85MG. Difference is they run ball Bearing.I think u'll like them better, and smoother. If you go to Xray websight tyres are available there.

yeah asphalt and grass...a bit of both...
suppose my driting isn't helping to keep the tyres nice ;-)

The servo. my xray one has electronics problems maybe caused by that response thing..., but i dunno where and how to change it :(
would i have the same problem with the 85MG??
is there a cheaper version of that one which would do (nearly) the same job??
thx

Hitec 85MG servos. Here in the states, a hobby shop well known. They do international shipping. Or search Hitec on web. Xray using their servo, same as 81MG. They are still analog. Send me an email I'll give you more info, or just PM. Email under my profile.

I know what you mean about the Thrax tires wearing down. I run mainly on tarmac outside my house and 3 out of the 4 tires are pretty much bald. Ah well... they are still better (in my eyes) than the chevron ones, which I always have as a backup.

DriftKing - my servo was DOA with similar problems to what you have described. Luckily it was replaced without too many problems. However, if you are looking to get a new servo then check out www.servoshop.co.uk for a good selection of micro servo's. As for the tires, it might be worth checking out www.mirageracing.com to see if they are going to stock the chevron tires as thats where I found most of my xray spares.
