Post subject:  servo for the MT ( HS-225 MG ?)

at the moment I have the  HS-81MG

although I had no "centering problems" at the beginning, it seems that the gear has "worn out" after 1 year

I have searched through the forum, and it looks like the  HS-85MG is the one to go for (also my first guess)

but then I saw the  HS-225MG (it is faster & stronger then the 85  ), and wondered if it would fit in the MT :?:

(I am aware, that this would need some modification)

has anyone tried this already :?: or is the 85 good enough :?:

225 will need modification it's 3mm bigger then the 81's. The 85's are the same sizes as 81's no mod needed. I run 85MG/BB(ball Bearings) on my M/NT18 works well for steering. Been about 11 months now, with no problems.

hi :)

also noticed that the servo-horn of the 85 is a little bit more outside (compared to the 81)

but according to your post, this is no "problem" :?:

81's & 85's have same dimension. 85MG/BB has a smoother action then 85MG. And yes no problems with them.

The 85mg is actually a mm longer, but it still fits fine. Here is a insider tidbit I found. The Multiplex Digi 4 Polo is based around the Hitec 85mg with Multiplex's digital circuitry. Ultra fast with plenty of torque.

That servo you linked to is a bit too big to fit stock.

just came from my lokal store, where I compared the servos

the HS-225 "could" fit into the chassis, but not with the original servo-mounts :(

(I didnĀ“t want to admit it; had to see it for myself :o )

so I bought the HS-85MG

thx everyone

Mutiplex & Hitec are basically the same company. If you go to Hitec Web or visa-versa, you'll find Mutiplex. Think they Merged sometime last year.
