hi,
started to assemble my NT1 and have a question?
the wheel axle thru the platic hub with bearing then a pin is insert thru the wheel axle after that the plastic hex wheel nut slide to the axle and notched into the pin. my question is that there is a 8mm gap between the back of the hex nut and the front face of the hub...is this normal???? :?:

the wheel hex snapps onto the pin that goes through the axle....it may take a little extra force to get it to snap....use a tire to push it on. OR, you wrote bearing...did you use 1 or 2 bearings?

recently purchased a replacement composite steering block (left) and I noticed it was marked 'V2'..is this the new block with a different sweep and must be used together L&R pair or can this be used interchangably with an original steering block?

When it is marked as V2 than it is the new one and you can use it with the original one without problem.

Recently I have broken the lightweight 2 speed clutch housing (2nd gear). I was surprised to see it break clean from the outter ring. Must be the awesome power of my Rossi NSR12S3 from 2003. I will use a new one again since this one lasted 6 club races, 2 regional races, 2 special trophy races and a National event before breaking.

The NT1 is a very well handling car. I have been using the 200,000 oil in the front diff and is almost like the solid axle but with a hint of steering.

I have a couple of questions..........sorry if these have been asked before.

Concerning the shocks which come on the Nt1.
Does everyone use the adjustability of these shocks? Are they easy to adjust/use?

I noticed alot of people using the stock composite bodies. Apart from durability.Has anyone noticed any performance or consistancy improvements when using the aluminium bodies?

I've seen some improvements in other shocks/cars when opening up the shock piston holes to 1.2 or 1.3mm. Has anyone tried opening up the Nt1 piston holes?
Does the 1-4 hole adjusting mechanism still work when you do this?

Lots of questions I know........sorry.

Regards,
NewLeaf1

Hey...dejavu. Welcome to the XRAY forum!

I gave the following reply on rctech:

Up until two weeks ago, I've used the adjustable pistons as well. However, I'm pretty much settled now on 600/500 with 2 holes all way around for the NT1. So I now use the fixed pistons, which give a little more stiff dampening than the adjustables set to 2 holes open. Its worked great at two completely different tracks the past few weeks. I may try opening the holes up to 1.1 though.

The adjustable pistons are EASY to use.

Aluminum bodies are more durable in crashes and I recommend the 1 o-ring config for them. No performance gain that I've seen though.

I feel the same thing.. i used the adjustable to find a good basic setup and then i changed to the fixed.. they work a little better and i also drilled up the holes a little...

Thanks for the reply's guy's.

If the adjustable piston's were drilled out, say to 1.3mm. Do you think the adjustability would still work?

The spacing between the adjustment holes doesn't leave much room. Plus, the two piece piston inherently lets more oil through so there really isn't a need to drill them. I would only drill the fixed pistons.

Nexus Racing has 2 kits left, but they'll be gone pretty quick.

Ok, I have another question.

On the diff's. I was surprised to see on some set-up sheets whats diff' oilweights people are using. 60 and 80,000 !!??
Now is this "WT" or "CPS"
I see XRay sell their oils in cps so I thought it was probably this?

Also, do you fill these small diff's full? Or to the bars only?

Thanks again.

Its measured in CST (centistokes). The old XRAY oils were measured in WT, and therefore we put together a CST to WT conversion chart at the bottom of this webpage here...

Ok. Thats a little better then, it being in cst ! Not quite as thick as I had thought.

Do you fill them, or just to the 'cross bars?

Thanks,

Each driver does it differently. I personally fill them full.
