Hi people,

I need help from anyone's expertise or expiriences.

My original XT8 body shell is broken quite badly....... I need new body replacement. I choose Proline bodies because my LHS is selling Proline body only. I think is fine.... coz the proline body is thicker too than xray.

Apparently Protoform only make 1 body : Crowd Pleazer 2.0, with 4 customization :

1. especially made for Kyosho RC Car ST-RR,
2. especially made for Mugen RC Helicopter MBX5-T
3. especially made for Jammin RC Boat XC1 - CRT
4. especially made for Losi RC Airplance Eight T

Which one of the above is also suitable for XT8 ?

Thank you people !!!

I appreciate your advise & expertise.

Get the Jammin XC1 - CRT!!

Not gonna lie i use it for XT8 and it's awesome.

Yes I do. Also the outer rear ones although the thread barely sticks out. I use strong threadlock there so the locknuts stay on and no problems for 10 hours driving yet.

I had 3 shock ends snap off at the groove that's designed to keep the boots on. 3rd one took me out of the Amain last weekend.
strange thing is that all 3 were on the same rear shock and there's nothing wrong with the shock itself? other than being a wee bit down on oil because it had leaked a bit
I was wondering if anyone else has had that problem? and whats the fix :?:(other than using another brand of shock end)

I had that happen on the buggy, then I screwed them all the way onto the shaft (I used to not do this to get a bit more shock length) and after that it was fine. Did you have yours all the way on the shock shaft?

I had one spap at the groove too, threw rest in the bin and fitted 808 shock ends & spring retainers. 808 ends have a larger diameter so u need the retainers as well. having that stupid groove is like having "Break here" written all over it, besides that those shock boots are for nothing, get some outware covers.

Cheers, Ian

I'm new to x-ray as I just bought my son a XT8 ( it's an 08 that has all the 09 stuff except the rear shock tower). I bought it used already converted to elec. I took it to an indoor race in Danville, Indiana (HCRC) this sat and ran it for the first time. The truggy is ver stable and drove great. There were 40 entries. I qualified 7th in the A-main and finished 3rd.
I'm running 6S and Tekin ESC with Tekin 1350 motor geared 14/46.

Here's a link to the track and parts of the races. My trug has yellow wheels, green/white and red body. There's some quick footage of it coming off the table top and toward the camera guy.

From the pictures shown it does not come with it so you will need to order a front & rear bumper set. THe rear bumper acts like a spacer between the chassis & diff housing so is needed.

I might have missed this somewhere in the threads, but I was wondering if anyone has tried to use the 808 I.S.S. on their XT8? I know the it fits on the rear, I had some extra parts that were tore up from some rough tracks, but haven't torn down the buggy and truggy to see if it works on the front. on the rear I havent measured yet, but I think it might widen the XT8 about 2mm cause it is really close to slipping off the droop adjustment screw plate, never noticed how close it was before. Xray has to build the best Truggy out there, TQ'd and won my first race with it at my local track (granted it was sportsman class). Just shows you how good Xray is, cause I know I'm not that good, lol

Ok looking at upgrading to a new Xt8 but have a few questions...

Can you run the 808 engine mount on the 09 truggy ??? I think you can ??

What hinge pin set on the 09 Truggy do you need to run the EC set or will the newer 808 ones fit on its just the eccentric bushings are a different size and would like to put the 808 if they fit.

Thanks

Assuming you are talking about the multi-piece engine mount, you need the lower 808 engine mount plate. The top plates are the same XB8/808 they just look different.

Yes sorry i should have made it a bit clearer on our current XT8 i have the black two piece engine mount the same one that is used on the XB8 EC as are the captured hinge pins. Was wondering if the two piece 808 engine mount fits on to the 2009 XT8. Same goes for the captured hinge pins i have them so can i transfer them from the older 2008 to the 2009 spec truggy or do i have to get the 808 captured hinge pin set.

The hinge pin holders should be the same so you can reuse them on the '09. For the engine mount see my post above.
