-spring steel eccentric bushings for all pivot pins
-stronger front turnbuckle, or revised upper suspension arm design to reduce stress to the turnbuckle
-steel ecentric bushings spin slightly in front arms, changing caster, figure a way to fix the bushings in place better
-c-hub with droop modification already done

Awesome first 1/8 Off-Road Buggy from XRAY. :D
Drives great.

Yes, he is talking about a sock type material that goes over the shock spring itself which protects the shocks even more. I dont this is something that chassis companies have made in the past, but I could be wrong.

Mario - can we get an ETA on the optoin parts? Or can we get a list of optoins that you are currently working on? I'd love to wait for the offical Xray optoins but I'm not the most patient person in the world and the season is starting to ramp up here in the US.

It would be nice to know what parts are in the works and how far away they are from being available.

Thanks in advance.

I certainly do mean something like Shocksox, I get fed up replacing the sausage type paty ballons each week. How am I supposed to bling when I have "HAPPY NEW YEAR" on one corner and "HAPPY 40th" on another?

Umm I hope your not using ones that actually fit tight on the springs........ ribbed or not I don't think they were meant to keep dirt of this kind out or shock fluids in.
I have used shocksox and they were ok but I don't know they can handle the constant abuse they would receive. Mine tore in two weeks.

I see so many guys at the track struggling to get their starter box lined up.
I spend a lot of time making sure mine fits snug and works every time, even with my eyes closed lol!.

may be nice to have 4 holes in chassis that fit into pins in an XRAY box that fit perfect every time.(related sales hint)

also I just noticed that the spur gear is very close to the bottom of the chassis. is there any way to offer protection for it?

Not what I know... On most cars they are equally low. On the prototypes we ran last spring the main gear even protuded below the chassi... 8)

Sorry for asking - what is the "problem" you have with the caster bushings?? :? :?: They cant rotate. There is two flat spots on each bushing and matching flats in the lower suspension arms. If you align them and push the bushing flush with the arm and then use the M3 screw it cant move... Is there another way of mounting them?

Ok, thanks. I havent been there for a while.

I think I can talk on behalf of all team drivers (and team mechanics = me) - non of us has have this issue... So we're all wondering what have happened in these cases. :?: I think David (on the grid) had an idea of that the two flat spots hadnt been perfectly aligned when pushed in etc. Maybee also the outer suspension pin could have been bent after a crash? That way it "could" put an off-set force on the bushing making it rotate... Hm... just thinking out loud. Before looking at these pics, I honestly would have said - it cant happen...

it happens after you run the car or certain arm a bit the bushing sorta wears the flat spots out in the arm from the twisting of the pin trying to make the bushing move a bit...it takes a lil time but it happens to every xb8 i have seen so far with any amount of time on it...............

I have the same kind of problem like you, mwbmod74.. Especially if the race condition is getting very hot and dusty..

I think the problem is that the eccentric bushing and the hinge pin is locked together because of some debris getting in between them.

I tried to put some grease between them, in this case I use Poly Butyl Cuprysil Grease or Anti seizing grease. And also I put TAMIYA thread lock (Blue color) around the contact area between eccentric bushing and the hole in the arm. Don't be scared to put the thread lock, it will be easy to take out. But make sure that you use TAMIYA thread lock. I use it because it dried out to be like rubber like material.

Lately, I don't have this problem anymore.

Yes, the grease will be kind of quick solution. I will make an article on this asap.
