302028-O T3 Alu Upper Clamp with Adj. Roll-Center (L+R) - Orange, these upper bulkheads were sent already to distributors so they should be available in hobby shops soon.

Hi, I have used my t3 11 now for 2 events. Stock setup except ally shocks, 1 degree toe in at the front and 400wt oil. I'm having problems with the rear being loose on slow hairpins and understeers on fast sweeping corners. the car feels like it hasn't got the grip my 008 had. Any advise on what to change 1st. This is on an indoor carpet track. Thanks.

Hi,

make sure you use toe out 1 degree in the front (not toe in), this will make the car more stable

I would put 350 shock oil and 2.6 springs in front and 2.4 springs in the rear, this would solve the problem

Also use 2nd position on the rear shock tower

are you using standard diff? Make sure that is tight enough

Hi Martin, thanks for the advise. I did rebuild my diff and fit esc drive shafts at the weekend. The car had much more steering. But the rear was still a bit loose, I will try your suggestions. Thanks Jason

Are we going to see a new amended setup sheet for the Bulkhead mounts? It looks like a number of the team is using them, so it might be nice to know where they are set.

Do you use the 8MM and closed ball joint for the steering block linkage (not the one through the C-hub)? Is there less play than the with the standard link, if not, what is the advantage? I thought the advantage of closed ball joint on the outside was to avoid rubbing the wheel rim when adding additional shims?

Can someone please confirm that these are the correct parts to change the outside links on all four corners?

XR302655 - BALL END 4.9MM WITH THREAD 10MM (2) Front c-hub
XR302655 - BALL END 4.9MM WITH THREAD 10MM (2) Rear upright
XR302665 - COMPOSITE BALL JOINT 4.9MM - CLOSED WITH HOLE (4)

You use 6mm for the new bulkhead right?

Thank you very much.

The advantage is less play and the link sits lower so less likely to hit the wheel on top of c-hub and rear hub.

For the rear hub and on top of the c-hub I use 10mm ball.

For steering 6mm on the inside (in the steering plate) and 8mm for mounting in the steering block.

For the upper bulkheads 6mm is the best choice.

Thanks for clearing this up, guess I have to do some shopping.

For standard bulkhead:
XR302655 - BALL END 4.9MM WITH THREAD 10MM (2) x 2 front and rear
XR302654 - BALL END 4.9MM WITH THREAD 8MM (2) steering block
XR302665 - COMPOSITE BALL JOINT 4.9MM - CLOSED WITH HOLE (4) x 2

Additional for optional bulkhead:
XR302653 - BALL END 4.9MM WITH THREAD 6MM (2) x2
XR302665 - COMPOSITE BALL JOINT 4.9MM - CLOSED WITH HOLE (4)

Edit: removed "XR302653 - BALL END 4.9MM WITH THREAD 6MM (2) steering plate" from standard bulkhead as these come with the car. T3 '11

I just realised that I made a mistake there. For the upper bulkheads, only 6mm is needed!

Alex, have you done much testing on asphalt with the changing the spacers on those upper links yet?

Due to cold conditions/snow I did not have a chance to test outdoors yet. I hope I can do it soon and come back with some valuable information. Maybe Martin did some tests at the factory, so he might be able to give some feedback.

Hi

Could you please confirm the correct composite hubs for the T3R. The instruction manual and XREF spreadsheet state different items. Is it 302078 as per the instructions or is it 302076 as per the Xref spreadsheet.

thanks
Bish

It should be same as standard in the T3 kit which is 302078.

The front c-hub and rear hub are the same part number as for the old 2011 car.

Front c-hub right: 302363

Front c-hub left: 302364

Rear hub 0 degree: 303352

Hi, does the t3 11 have more steering throw than the 12? Lock to lock.

I am running kit carpet setup on my t3 12 and need more rotation in the slower corners, without making the rear loose. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Hi Jason,

If you want better rotation in slow corners, try 2.8 springs in front instead of 3, lay down the shocks in rear by one hole, but for sure if you need better response, use short upper linkages in both, front and rear.

Please let me know if it helps

Hello I own a t3 2012, finished building already a week ago.. it is really great plastic and AL quality , I really like it, you have done great work out there however I have a problem with rear toe in.

During the building if you check instruction manual page 10, top picture it says "the rear aliminum holders have integrated rear toe in" you can see the red line angle in the picture but this angle changes everytime you unscrew these bulks and screw again..I mean these small bulks are moving by some amount which effects the toe degree.

After the assambly we have found on a hudy setup board that rear right is 3mm toe in, left is 2.5mm toe in.. double checked every assambly point once more but there is still a variation just because of these bulks and it is really weird, are you in aware of this situation?

Thanks for your kind support in advance.

Dzugit,

untight the screw which holds the alu one-piece bulkhead on the side where is 2.5 toe in and move it with fingers in the direction where you can get more toe and while holding it, tight the screw
