I think grip is 'ok', I put it down as medium, grip roll is rare there despite the high speed corners etc.

I think a lot of that is down to using Sorex 32's with Schumacher Blue Inserts.
A lot of the carpet venues are currently running Sorex 28's with Blue inserts. I only know of one running the Ride tyres (under Moorespeed brand)

Interesting.
2.8-2.6 springs, or kit 3.0-2.6?
Is that with the L1 &L2 roll centre's?

Surprisingly soft shocks, certainly with 1.1 pistons and only 400 oil :?

Martin,

Your advise on changes in setup on carpet tracks as above is also applicable on tarmac/asphalt tracks with low to very low grip?

If not which things would you suggest?

Thnx.

Kind Regards,

Ken Sei

Hi,

to get more traction, put 350 shock oil, 2.8 springs in the front and 2.6 in the rear (When is very low traction, I sometimes use 2.6 in front and 2.4 in the rear) Than 1.3 anti roll bar in the front. For sure, use short upper linkages (the outside hole on the upper bulkheads) This will give you more steering in the front and more traction in the rear.

Let me know if it helps

Martin,

Use the shorter camber link on a low carpet track... Never try, but isn't it more difficult to drive than the stock carpet setup ( t3 2012 ) ?

Next week end i will have a practice for the first round of national french on carpet with Ride 36. With these inapropriate tyres i have to find a setup with better overal grip than the stock setup.

Is the LRP carpet 2 additive better than the cs high grip when the traction is bad ?

Thanks for tips

I have the setup for the car that won this race;
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k7gLpoodHVc

It was on Sorex 32's.
I'll try to remember to upload it later then send you a link.

Manson,

The LRP Cartpet provides more traction than CS, so I would use that one. IF the traction is really low, put the additive for 60 minutes in the rear and 30 minutes for front.

I would start with basic set up but instead of middle linkages, I would use short ones as you get more overall traction. Put the rear diff into low position, you get much more on power traction and car would be more stable. Maybe try 3.5 toe in in the rear.
