As far I know the team has tested and used the Multi-Flex one-piece engine mount when the grip got high to stiffen the car. So this was rather a piece used to adjust the set-up. Also for this track the front solid axle was used but the standard kit will feature the solid axle connecting joint, so you can easily turn the diff into solid axle.

from the NT1 description in flash presentation, notice that the conventional driveshafts are used instead of CVD's, are CVD's gonna be an option part? why aren't the CVD's used in the std kit?

Yes, the CVD drive shafts will be available as option part.

Mario I would like to get some information on the NT1, has your team tested it with other engines besides the MF, and what were the results ?? And what tire offset would the car be using ??

Thank you for any information

Hi Trini,

I ran the car yesterday with an Orion CRF Engine. Excellent power and the clutch was fantastic out of the box. :D

I have heard the CRF needs a light gearing to get the most out of the engine. So far I have read most cars can not supply such a gearing, how is that with the NT1 ?

Yes its true you need to use a high gearing for the CRF. I used 7.56 1st & 5.27 2nd, thats ideal for the CRF.

With the new carb. the engine is making more low end power, so we will probably run a lower ratio than before.

I tested on a small track so i'll know more when i get to a larger one.

Is the NT1 gonna have a front oneway? Are the tires gonna have any off set?

The NT1 will come with front gear differential which makes the car super easy to drive. With the included solid axle connector you can turn the diff into a solid axle.
Several off-set wheel axles will be available as option as well.

Mark I know this may be too early but can you tell me if CRF would be teaming up with you all to create their clutches for the NT1?

I'm looking at only 2 cars to race this summer in NJ,ny and CT.....the another brand or the xray....I've driven the other brand car,and I own every HUDY tool, truer, comm lathe etc,so I know the car(NT1) will be fine....here's the selling point for me.....I'd like to know if ball diffs will be an option for the nt1......the other brand car is also offering a brake pulley one way as an option. I really want to use that option.......Any possibility that will be available as a NT1 option?..

I am new to the nitro kit assemble but I have been looking at other brands and they come with one piece engine mount, where as the NT1 comes with 2 piece engine mounts.

How come is it better to have a 2 piece than a 1 piece?? Or would the 1 piece be an option ??

The engine mounts have significant influence on the stifeness of the car and handling. After extensive testing it was decided that the best compromise for most of the different racing conditions is to use the separate engine mounts while still the one piece Multi-Flex engine mount will be available as option.
The advantage of the XRAY engine mounting system is that once you set the gear mesh during the initial installation, the gear mesh setting will be fixed and anytime you will remove/install engine back you do not have to re-adjust the gear mesh anymore.

one of the car just hit the asphalt yesterday race.

build quality is good (as always)
the clutch works very very good with no sign of power drop for the entire 45 minutes
almost everyone uses front oneway, so using a front diff have some disadvantage to setup the car. but 2nd position not bad at all :)

a few question:
spur gear only 1 size?
what on-off switch to fit to the receiver box (smaller than standard size)

i hope the production kit can arrive before FEMCA on May because now everyone wants to switch. he3x :)

Finished building the superb quality NT1 and put the car in the track for the first time to join the local National series. The car feels solid and seems like all the parts will survive crashes easily. The plus point of the car is the strong and rigid drive train due to the excellent design makes it almost impossible to strip the gears. In the A main race six cars from three other brands strip their second speed spur gear. That’s 6 out of 10 cars strip their gears. My NT1 gears survive 60min race period and its gears is still like new after the race. The NT1 leads throughout the A main race but unfortunately lost the position in the final last 1 min as the tires is to the rims already. Well thats our mistake in the wrong tires size prediction and have to live with 2nd position for now.

Xray guys I have been reading on another forum, that the NT1 does not come with springs with the kit, and it is recommended you use the serpents springs, is there any truth to that??
