Hi,

We debut the NT1 here in Brazil in our state champion. Great car.
I have only one dislike thing. The belt tensioner of central belt.
With 25T pulley the belt tensioner did not do what it have to do.
Any tips bout it?

Use a dremel with drill bit to cut a little more material from the left side of the slot where the adjusting screw slides through. This will allow you to move the tensioner to the right and down enough.

Wow all this time I thought it was purposely designed not to give any real tension on the 25pulley

I did that!
But now the belt tensioner was blocked by the engine screw.

Aah...and I'm using the 26t pulley with the tensioner dremelled...

You could always 'spot' dremel away a little material where the tensioner CF meets the motor mount screw.

I'll check to see if R&D aren't already aware of this.

Hello,

I'm new to this forum. I currently race another brand car. It has been a good car for me, but I've been looking to get the nt1. The ? I'm about to ask may not beable to be answered. I'm taking a trip to Japan in the next week, & I wonder if anyone knows of any shops in Japan that may have the nt1. I will start my trip in Kyoto then make my way up to Tokyo. I don't know if Xray has good distribution in Japan.

Thanks

Please email at info@teamxray.com the cities you will be in and you will get contacts. There are tons of dealers in Osaka and Tokyo. However XRAY always suggests to purchase any XRAY products at your local shop in order to receive technical and customer's support. If you get the kit abroad and you will have any troubles, the warranty and replacements are made through the shop where you have purchased the kit. Therefore the best thing is to support you local dealer who will be able to provide you in future with the appropriate service.

Thanks! If I hadn't blew up the Max SL3 I believe I could have made the podium and had 2 XRAY's on it. :D

The track is HUGE (european style) and I've posted the setup here. However, don't be fooled by the setup. The track also has three tight corners which my car was able to navigate easy with several lines to choose from.

The rear is rotating so well, that I plan on leaving it alone. But I plan on testing a few setup changes with the front (roll bar, roll center, ackerman, springs & dampening) this weekend to see if I can find any improvement.

Oh, and CONGRATS to Mike Dunnigan who put the NT1 on top of the podium!!!

Found the culprit after the SL3 went up in smoke. Bad tank was leaking air into the fuel line. When temps were cool, the motor ran fine. But when they rose and the tank expanded, the motor ran lean. From there it was a snowball effect until the inevitable...

Problem solved now though.

The SL3 was very powerful, even while breaking it in rich on the track. It was fast enough to match my buddy's RB Xenon shod 1/8 down the straight once it broke in, and his motor is fast.

Because of my driving style, I ended up using the 2630 pipe with 7 fin header for more bottom end. I then geared it higher for more mid range acceleration, which is what I like. It definitely has more top end with the 2602 though.

Gearing was set at 17/58 and 23/53. With the 2602 pipe Ralph and Barry ran 17/60 and 23/55 at the same track two weeks earlier.

Ok, thank you. I will give it a try. I have also both options. 2602 or 2630 with small, medium or long header :D

I haven't tried the one-way, only the spool with 80k rear diff oil. My setup is vastly different though as I run a very stiff rear and soft front setup which requires a loose rear diff.

I ran the other spring only because I didn't have another XRAY spring and mine was worn out. :D

I bit the bullet and have another SL3 on the way!

We have a big race in NY this weekend and I'll give an update next week on how it performs there.

oopppsss...worn out?well the engine must be working uummmpphh to have your spring worn out.. :D it feels different on 10mm and 9mm spring when i apply the centax pre set up by xray..

your clutch bell clearance base from brand new shoe or a 'well done' unit?i tested on new and race ready, well the white 1 surely have higher wear and it wears quite much for my mains final..
