Is the NT1 supposed to come with wheels? I have not got a response from the Hobby Shop I bought it from but mine did not. Seems that its supposed to have wheels but no tires.

I am to the point where I am building shocks. So the bulk of car is done.

Have to say I am impressed with quality and the manual.

I am a Xray fan for sure !!

So what is the best option. I dont know much about foam.

Is it better to buy them as a set (wheel/tire combo) or buy good wheels and then mount tires? I see tire lathes for sale. Is this required when you do your own?

Thanks guys. You are very helpful

Rich

I would say that the tires are now being almost exlusively sold pre-glued on wheels already. There are couple of different hardness so if you do not have much experience then you should definitely check with other guys at the track what they are running (what shore) and go with that for start.
The XRAY foam tires are very exclusive tires on high performance specially designed wheels but are not cheap but if you would look for highest performance tires for racing than the XRAY one would be perfect (used by XRAY team at last Euros to set TQ and place 5 cars in the A main using XRAY tires).

Mario wont be track racing for a while. Plan on doing nothing but parking lot racing with friends this year. So would like the most durable tire possible. Most the guys I will be running against will be running rubber tires and not foam.

On low grip situations (parking) the use of rubber tires could be a better choice. I know there are good results with the CS27 tires.

Have a link to the correct rubber tires?

I am new and want to have something to roll on while I get used to it.

We dont have a local track except for Buggy so will be doing that this year. But the NT1 is just being messed with first year :)

Just check with your local hobby shop, they will have for sure some rubber tires.

No one recommends running rubbers for racing around here. they make it seem like foams are you only options. Considering we race mostly in parking lots, I thought rubber would be the best choice but I can't figure out what a good brand, tire, or insert combo is to run.

The nitro cars are heavier than the EP cars. So I would think Sorex 36's would be a starting place? I have been thinking about doing some rubber tire testing to check my skills lol
