I put the EC captured hinge pin system on there are posts in this thread some wear.....

big bore shocks will make the biggest performance difference (but the EQ captured pin setup is nice also..especially to get max kickup in the front)

Yes they will I took the setting for gtsum and it is a big deffernce recommend it highly.....

I'm sure I read that the Euros TQ captured hinge pins are a better option than the stock EC :?

my bad...I have the Euros hinge pin kit..whichever one is the newest one (I cannot recall for sure, but now that you mention it, I am pretty sure it is the Euros kit)

This has been covered many times before on this forum. Just use the 'search' function at the top and you'll find loads of info about it.

The best thing to do is get the hinge pin holders used on the EC. This gives you the best adjustability and retains the geometry the XT8 was designed with (and adds to it). I can't recall exactly, but I thinks it's slightly cheaper to buy the front Euros TQ set (as these are the same as on the EC) and then the separate components for the rear.

Hi guys,
Just thought I'd add a post here, I had a look at the 808 that arrived at the shop where I work the other day and I like the look of the shocks so I ordered a set to go on my XT8. The fronts went on fine, no modifications needed at all (with the exception of replacing the top mounting bolts with 25mm long ones), the rears was a slightly different story. I endeed up taking the shock shafts out of the original XT8 shocks and putting them in the 808 shocks with 8mm long fuel tube bump stops to prevent the shafts going straight through the top of the shock. :) I'm currently running blue springs all round with 40wt front oil and 35wt rear oil, and 1.3mm pistons. I'll be running it at the UK truggy nats with this setup in just over a week at Westmill so we'll see how it goes. :)

Same here will be ordering a set of the 808 shocks. I purchased a set of Big Bore Ofnas from the jammin but could not put inferior parts on a Xray.......

do they work standard or do you have to change the pistons over..???

Any one have the part # for the big bore shocks.....

AMT-Flo that's why I said you have to use the rear shock shafts out of the original shocks! :) The 808 rear shocks are about half an inch too short, swapping the shafts over sorts it out, but like I said you'll have to put bump stops on. The fronts bolt straight on.
Part numbers:
Front 808 shocks complete XR358102 (with silver springs)
Rear 808 shocks complete XR358202 (also with silver springs)
Rear XT8 shock shafts XR358268 (Front shafts are the right length, in fact the 808 uses exactly the same front shock shafts as the XT8! :))

gtsum--do you have a part number for the kyosho big bore shocks? I thought the original shocks on the XT8 were big bore. :?
BTW how does running the big bore shocks change your choice of oil?

I ran xray 700 front and rear, but sometimes I went to 800/700 depending on the track conditions (Losi 50 all around works well too..that is about 750)
