That's why I didn't get any upgrade parts for the NT1 yet except gears & spare belts. Too early to tell what the benefits are as a novice. Originally I thought I HAD to get univerals but there's not defect I can see. I'll just wait for the Pro's to say what's needed as hop up. *Didn't they make a hop up kit to upgrade the XB8 to XB8 EC...maybe they will make something like that for the NT1 down the road.

*I heard a peice of extended lexan under the gears is a good idea to protect gears from stripping if you hit something or scrape pavement.
I am running on streets.
Anyone recommend this or a better method?

thanks,

Hello from France,

I made some tests with front 25t pilley + 19t rear pulley, I found the car better with an equal tyre loose.

Au revoir.

Hello from France,

I built a new kit and I've noticed some improvments but also some new probems....

good:
- CVD inside
- plastic parts seems harder
- real thrust bearing
- very good nuts wheel

bad:
- cheaper screws than before (especially round head)
- cheaper ball bearings than before (little play and shorter life span)

So team Xray, I'm good or not with my remarks?

But, the car is still the best for me!!!!

Au revoir.

Bonjour de France,

I'm a little bit sad because I have no answer from team Xray about poor quality on some stuff...

Are you planning to come back to your premium quality products?

I'm sure good screws don't cost a lot!!!And screws are very important if you judge the global quality of a product...
And returning to better ball bearings will make happy every owner of Nt1 instead buying aftermarket bearings...

Merci,

au revoir

Hi,

we know that the bearings and screws are important and because of that we have not changed them since the first car. The screws and bearings are same

Bonjour Martin,

and congratulations for your podium at the WC.

So I have some bad lucks with button head screws (thinner head than my previous NT1 kit), and with my new splendid blue rubber sealed bearings (three of 10x16x4) that come with little play as standard...

But I love this car, because it's so reliable, easy to tune and nice looking.

Au revoir.

Romuald.

Please note that the screws and also the ball bearings are from the same
supplier as in the first kit so these are not cheaper or whatever. All these
screws and bearings are used in all XRAY kits from the beginning.

Hello from France,

we have had some bad issues for the last 6 months with #338560 black flyweights, that opens around the hole.

Don't say, clutches have bad settings, it was on a lot of cars.

Anybody with the same problem?

Au revoir

When I was assembleing my first Xray a month ago,
I notice the round head screw are very crappy..
2 of them in the set were not even threaded!!!
about 1/5 of them were not balance!
the top rounded part were off to one side!
you can tell when you turn it with a hex screwdriver..!

this does not happen just to me..
Friends and I bought total of 4 NT1 at the same time,
We all found the screw are crappy!!!
a week later, my 2 other friend bought NT1 as well,
that makes total of SIX NT1, we all found those screws are crappy!!!

We found those bearing have play as well,
it can be improve, but we can live with that..
beside of those crappy screws! We are all happy with our NT1!!
ease to drive, tought plastic! reliable car!

When brano said all the screw are from the same supplier as in the first kit, well, they can sell cheaper stuff for the same price! all the raw material prices are rising every single day, supplier know very well what they should do.. I hope u know what I mean.

Improve those screws, make us all proud of our xray!
:P :D :P :D

Hello from France,

XRay NT1 took a brilliant victory at the 6 hours Merlin Enduro Race.

No major problems, only 4 spur gears broken.

Au revoir.

What is going on with the steering blocks and rear uprights?

I had 1 out of the 4 that would accept the adjusting nut perfectly straight for the pivot balls, the other 3 went wrong no matter how many times I tried... So, ended up starting straight, then after a few turns it pulled wrongly and damaged the thread......

Ordered three new, hope I will not destroy those too.

And yes, surely I use the HUDY glowplug wrench for this delicate task..

i've had the same problems when i first builded the car, i heated the uprights so they expended a bit and that made assembling them a bit eassier.
But it's not how it's supposed to be, definitaly not xray quality.

Ok, so if I heat them first they should accept the nuts fairly trouble free?

i had this happen with my first 2 kits . and the other 3 xrays here local all did it also
i borrowed a tap so i could use it to retap them after they tryed to go in side ways
but with the new replacment parts there was no problem at all
the pillow balls went straight in .
i think it was just the kit ones were a bit tight
wish i had i though of heating them up
ive only had this hapen in the kits
