What bodies would fit the xt8 without with mododification to the rear posts? Ive heard of people using the Mugen body (with mods) , but I'd also like to know what other options we have. I currently have the Jconcepts body and Im not thrilled about it because of the mods to the rear posts...I just dont trust them.

The mugen rear body mount is very easy and they are light years better than anything out there. Bodies are personal opinion. I love the moo on my XT8.

I was thinking about getting a Mugen Bulldog body from proline. If the length of the stock body fits well over the xt8, then I cant imagine why the bulldog body isnt an option. Plus theers no humps in the rear to extend the posts, just a flat bed.

I don't want to do any mods to my tower. One mistake and you have holes in your tower for no reason or for a body you might use once becvause xray's coming out with a new one anyways. I'm getting the measurements of the bulldog body from a seller on ebay and ill see if that fits. I'm not rockin a mugen anything on my slovakian xray lol.

I only used modified mounts to fit the mugen body on my xt8. I can always go back If I like the new xray xt8 body. I didn't drill any new holes either, so my towers are un touched.

I understand that some have extended their rear mounts forward to clear the humps on most bodies but I don't think that is structurally sound, especially if u land on your back at some point it may cause severe damage if hit right. I'm going to bite the bullet and get the bulldog body and see how that goes. I like the look of it and I think due to its low rear, it might fit without any crazy mods.

I just purchased the proline bulldog body from amain. We'll see how things go and Ill let you guys know how it looks when it arrives. At this point if mods are needed I guess Ill have to do them but I have a good feeling on this one. I think the worse case scenario is cutting the rear a bit shorter based on my observations but anything's possible. If it works out we may have a body to use without modding our posts.

I put the extended 808 rear mounts and it works fine.

Which bulldog body did you get, Losi, Mugen, or HB? I would assume Mugen since people are running the stock MBX6T body anyway.

Ya I got the mugen version being that everyone is running the stock mugen body. I hope it works out but if not ill just ebay it and run the stock rice paper body lol. I was looking into the symbio t2 from reckward but its o.o.s everywhere I looked. So we'll see how this goes. Picked up some silver and metallic black paint also. Should be interesting

I an running a Proline shift X2 CRT body fits great with the new 808 long rear mounts installed, rear mount holes are well in front of the shock humps on the flat of the body , no drilling needed

I'm running the same body and even have the stock mounts, works great but the next one will be a Mugen body.

I would appreciate seeing pics of both of y'all's lids please.
Helotes: yours too please. Or at least a link to it. Something tells me its already on here....
I ghetto-rigged my rear posts out of sheer boredom. It works but my next lid will have to be something different. I sort of feel like I got duct tape holding the rear-view mirror on my Lamborghini....
But my rear towers are still in factory condition as are my posts. And it held up to the track well so...if it isn't broken...

Totally agree with you on the duct tape analogy lol. I couldnt stand to look at my truck like that so I trashed the body because it looked horrible and I removed the modified ghettofied rear posts too. Im going to find a way to do this with the stock equipment if it kills me. My truck is in the same room with a friend's D8T truck and hes got a sick paint scheme and mine looked like crap next to it and his truck is the most ghetto quality Ive seen under the lid. Needless to say I wouldnt stand for it so I immediately trashed the body and the rear posts. Better to have no lid than to have one that makes your truck look like a rice burner with a nast body kit.
With the body I ordered new springs (pink and violet), and a new black wing. I hope it all works out. If it doesnt Im just going to wait for Xray to release the new body already.

Im just the type to find a solution with what I have available to me. I am not a waiter. I sat and looked at my XT8-09 from July until late October before I got it to the track. Couldn't stand it any longer.
Im liking the lid for the CRT. I am also told the JConcepts lid for the Mugen Truggy is supposed to fit well using the stock mounts.

Bottom line is that the stock lid "will work" if we take our time in measuring for the holes. And, conversely, wouldn't it make sense for the company to make them not last very long? The whole part of profitability in this hobby is parts replacement. When they make all the important items as fantastically durable as they do, the lid seems to be among those parts with a high profit margin and more frequent replacement. Just sayin. But reality and common sense dictate that I use something a little more durable and a LOT less expensive.

The jconcepts illuzion or the punisher body? Cuz I believe the mugen illuzion is the same as the xt8 version. I dunno about the punisher body tho. I just like the idea of the bulldog body and the supposed handling characteristics it has.

Believe me Im no waiter either, Thats why Im going through this to see what works. Ive had the stock lid, the jconcepts which I trashed, and now Im trying the bulldog. BTW...Id never be able to just stare at my xt8 all summer and not run it lol. I dunno how you did that :?

 Life happens and shit develops. ANd I decided that unless I could take itto the track and spend the whole day with it -guilt free - I was gonna wait. I have a friend who has been advising me and wanted to also wait until he could be there to see it run the first time at the track. IT was a lot tougher than gettin on the wagon let me tell you!

I wish someone more cyber-savvy would post a side-side pictorial on al the lids that will fit our XT8-09s. Ideally JAson at JConcepts would see all this drivel and stretch the current lid out a few millimeters....
