Yes. It seems to be made of a softer material. Xray is aware of this. Move up to the 54T for now or you will be changing 53T gears every other race day.

I think I would prefer the 24T Pinion. Less likely to run into any durability issues like the 53T spurs. :wink:

Hi Grub,

I never tried the 53 but I think that your ratio difference is very big.
At my home track I normally use 18/23 and 54/59.
I also use the 17 but the difference between the ratio's then is bigger so when I use the 18 the shifting is more smooth and the engine wil preform better when shifting to second.

So what I will say is that when the car shifts, maybe the 52 gears gets more drive on the teeth and will strip.

And have you checked the clearance between the gears because maybe you cannot adjusted it right because of the big difference between the spurs.. ( I never tried so I don't known).

this give me more options so why not. We run on fairly large track (22 sec best lap for Touring) with Traction roll problem so we want to run smaller tires so this will be really good for us in Hong Kong
